Richard L. Ross

Richard Lee Ross, caterer and hotel owner, died of a heart attack Monday in Jefferson Health Center.
Mr. Ross, 86, of Clay Street, Elizabeth Borough, owned and operated the Ross Catering Service. He also was a former owner of the Large Hotel, the Red Carpet Lounge and the Broadway Hotel in Clairton.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Elizabeth and the Western Pennsylvania Double-deck Pinochle Club.
Born December 2, 1900, in Sincastle, Va., he was a son of the late John and Sue Welch Ross and husband of the late Harriet Randall Ross. Surviving are sons, Samuel M. Ross of May’s Landing, N.J., and Richard R. Ross of Elizabeth with whom he resided; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
